Britain: The Blitz was a time period when the Nazis carried out strategic bombings in the UK. 100 tons of explosives were used, the bombings took place from September 7, 1940 to May 21, 1941. The Germans targeted Britain's transportation systems and manufacturing industries. Many harbors were damaged as well. For example, 59,000 ton of vessels were destroyed. This has caused production in Britain to deteriorate, people weren't prospering in their nation/industries were producing less. Yet, they managed to construct 2,500 aircrafts in one month. An other major issue was many people have lost their homes. The Marshall Plan and the United State's financing had helped make Britain a prosperous country once again.

The main types of resources located in Western Europe are zinc and coal, which are found mostly in Spain. Bauxite and uranium in France. Britain has a vast supply of natural oil and gas, some gold has been uncovered as well. Ireland has a supply of natural gas and peat. Lastly, Portugal has reserves of zinc, copper and uranium.
